Acrylics were Bud's first choice of media, and in six years entered his first art show in Fort Myers Florida. He won first place in the competition. Bud presently paints in oils and watercolors depending on what the subject matter best calls for, painting almost entirely on scene. In 1999 he entered his second competition at the Greater Haverhill Arts Association and won the Silver Bowl for best Representation of the Merrimac Valley. In April of 2000 he entered his third competition at the Greater Haverhill Arts Association and was presented the "Founder's" award. In June of 2000 he entered Newburyport's Third Regional Juried art show. Of nearly three hundred entries Bud was given one of sixteen awards. Bud is President of the Greater Haverhill Arts Association and a member of the Newburyport Arts Association. His paintings hang in many collections in the Greater Haverhill area, Florida, and California.
